SCYPN’s 2nd Birthday Bash

I’m tempted to start with telling you this was the best event SCYPN has put on yet but let’s start with the restaurant. I wasn’t sure exactly what I would walk into when I showed up at the two-week-old Mukilteo Lodge Sports Grille. After breathing in a splendid blend of fresh wood and paint, I got a quick tour of the joint from the G.M., Ryan Zawisza (formerly with Emory’s on Silverlake). As he talked excitedly about the place, he mentioned his big plans for the place that included an impressive fireside lounge, a spacious bar and booth-style seating, with a corner area (spiffy tavern feel) that included a pool table, jukebox, and a nice big-screen TV. Overall, I was shocked to see how packed the place was and even so, a fun, smiling host of servers and wait staff eager to help out.
Lots of new faces showed up at the reserved fireside lounge area for our event. A nice, fun mix of almost 40, mid-20 to late 30’s (hovering 40) aged professionals came with one mission in mind; to meet new people. That was evident with the willingness of individuals excited to talk about their businesses, their experiences with SCYPN, and even their hobby-filled weekends. Before I could take a sip of my beer, Head Chef Marshall Fuller greeted us with some fillet-tip crustinis which were quite the hit. Everybody I was able to chat with was animated at the new restaurant, the fun gathering, and all the connections that they were able to make in the two-hour event. The most exciting part was the common question of the night, “when is the next one of these?”
